Getting in Contact with Meko
The first step in the student visa application process is to contact us for a free consultation. You can send us a message through our inquiry page to communicate your interest in joining Meko.
Once we receive your inquiry: We will answer your questions and send you our application form, Certificate of Eligibility (COE) checklist, and other necessary documents.

Online Consultation
Once you send us your completed application form, we will schedule an online consultation with you.
During the online consultation, we will:
  • - Explain the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and student visa application process and requirements
  • - Desired enrollment date
  • - Long-term goals in Japan and plans (e.g., higher education or employment)
  • - Japanese learning history

Document Preparation

By this point, you will have a clear understanding of what documents we will need for your COE application package. We will be in contact with you throughout the entire document collection process. The necessary documents are divided into the following categories:

  • - Basic Information
  • - Education and Employment History
  • - Financial Sponsorship Plan
  • - Japanese Travel and Visa History
  • - Health and Wellness

Japanese Proficiency Exam and Interview (if Applicable)
If you have not previously obtained an immigration-approved, N5-level Japanese proficiency exam certificate (such as JLPT N5), we will schedule an online examination and interview with you to satisfy this immigration requirement.

Admission Decision & Enrollment Invoice

Upon successful submission of all required documents and completion of the Meko Japanese Language School N5 Proficiency Admissions Test, we will send you:

- Your official Letter of Acceptance
- Invoice for the screening and enrollment fees for your course

Finalizing Your COE Application
Once we receive your payment, the Meko International Admissions Team will:

- Send you payment confirmation

- Conduct a comprehensive review of your documents and finalize your COE application

- Submit your COE application on the submission date established by the Tokyo Immigration Bureau.

As a Class 1 institution certified by the Tokyo Immigration Bureau, MEKO maintains a 100% visa approval rate.

Wait for Your COE

Every language school is assigned a designated group Certificate of Eligibility (COE) application date and result release date by the Tokyo Immigration Bureau.

We will inform you of MEKO’s scheduled result release date and forward your COE along with the tuition invoice once it has been approved. You can then print the COE and bring it to your nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate to apply for your student visa.
